Paris: Wikimania, Conversations, and Exploring Together
Paris was the first stop, before we continued to Germany. We spent time at Wikimania at UNESCO, caught up with people, and explored the city together. What I remember most is having time for conversations without needing to fit everything into a call.
Time Together in Paris
Wikimania brought us together at UNESCO, and we also met people at the opening party. Between the event and our time around the city, there was room to talk, get to know each other better, and spend quality time together.
Some of our discussions were about our work and how we could coordinate across teams. Being together made it easier to understand what others were working on and where we needed to stay in touch. Those conversations were part of the trip alongside the meals, walks, and sightseeing.
One evening, Mario, Ricardo, Saksham, and I had pizza by the Seine. Sitting by the river and spending time together is one of my favourite memories from Paris.
Exploring the City
We made time to visit some of Paris's attractions too. I went to the Louvre with Teo and Saksham, and visited the Palace of Versailles and its gardens with Mario. We also spent time near the Eiffel Tower and explored the city together.
These outings were a big part of the experience. Sharing a meal, walking around, and visiting places together gave us time to connect beyond our usual work conversations.
After Paris, we continued to Germany for more time together: work discussions, sightseeing, lake swims, plenty of döner kebabs, and Mario's cooking.
